This is the fourth class I'll be teaching at the Papercraft Expo this week in Brisbane. This one is a bit different - I love making tags but a lot of people ask me what do I do with them? So in this class we will make a tag and then we are going to make it into a framed layout measuring 29cm x 19cm (landscape orientation).
This class is Thursday 6th June 1.30 - 3.30pm.

How exciting that another Papercraft Expo is almost here!!! I'm currently sitting in a house that looks like a craft bomb has gone off as I get all the prep work completed for the classes. I have 3 suitcases lined up to go on the plane but I'm still not sure if that's enough :)

With this layout I wanted to show that you can do male layouts in the shabby chic style. Using more traditional male colours and adding in some metal elements takes away a bit of the softness of the style. However, a quick change of photo and the page is good to go for the girls too!!

A Layered Canvas
Saturday 8th June 1.30 - 3.30pm
This is a canvas measuring 25.5cm x 30.5cm which will highlight 5 of your special photos. I love layering and dimension and this does just that!

Well like most Australian families it has been a hectic couple of weeks as the kids all settle into their new school year! The school bags are full of shiny new pencil cases and files and I've been trying to get the house back to some sort of normality. It also means the scrapbooking can begin on a regular basis too which will put me in one of my happy places. I've also been checking out all the new releases that will be coming our way soon - it's my version of all the shiny goodies that are in the kids school bags! Suzanne at The Scrapbook Store has started getting some in already so I think it's time for some retail therapy!
The other day saw some very happy mail arrive on the doorstep - my DT pack from Imaginarium Designs. Each month there will be a Colour of the Month Challenge with this month been the colour RED and up for grabs are two packs of chipboard worth $50! All the details are here - it's so easy to enter.

Well my apologies for the absence of any posts around here! Like many people I found 2017 just passed in some sort of blur! I kept saying to myself that when things quietened down I would get myself back on track and up to date. Well you can see how well that worked out for me!
I have decided that busy is my new normal so I need to organise myself around that fact which means that I am going to be the Queen of lists this year! First things first and that's getting the cobwebs off my blog and getting going again.
I am very fortunate that the delightful and uber talented Jane Tregenza has allowed me to be part of her amazing team again at Imaginarium Designs! I am up on the blog today as my introduction to the 2018 team so I thought that was the best starting point for me for this year to kick off my blog again!

Kaisercraft have a gorgeous new (and very happy!) collection out this month called 'Party Time'. It's just perfect for that time of the year when it seems to be one party after another!
After recently celebrating both of my girls birthdays, I wish this collection had been released a little earlier as it would have made my party decorating a whole lot easier ;) They both adored the bright colours and fun images and it would have fitted in perfectly with their party themes!
The drink jars look so cute wrapped with paper and embellished with some of the Party Time Collectables! Adding the straws with rosettes made from different papers adds to the fun element

To add some fun to the table decorations, I made some gift Boxes using the WRMK Box Maker (so much fun!!!). I added more rosettes to the front - I'd forgotten how cute rosettes were and they are soooo easy to make!

The months just seem to be going by quicker and quicker and Christmas is just around the corner!!! I am nowhere near ready for the fast downhill pace that the next few weeks will bring! At least some creating time gives me some serenity from the madness of the day!
I was lucky enough to be able to escape recently for a few days of creating and relaxing and boy is that time good for the soul :)
This month at Imaginarium Designs I played with their fabulous chipboard designs and created a journal page, some tags and a Christmas layout.
My journal page was inspired by a wonderful class I took recently with the uber talented Gayle Price
Imaginarium Designs products used: Moroccan Border IDB0012 and Believe in your Dreams Phrase IDP0176
The chipboard was coloured using Lindy's Stamp Gang Magicals on the title and heat embossing on the remaining chipboard
The Moroccan Border was too solid for my page so I cut the chipboard randomly and then added some of the off cuts around my page
Imaginarium Designs products used: Nat's Hearts IDD0042 and Jessica's Flourish IDFL0014
The theme for November is 'Girly' so I went with a pretty and soft colour palette for my tags. All of the touches of white add to the shabby chic feel to the tags:
The aged gold embossing powder adds a fantastic texture to the chipboard

To celebrate this awesome event, I have created this project using Lindys Stamp Gang Sprays in Canna Lily Burnt Orange and Opal Sea Oats and Magicals in Ramblin' Rose Pink and Screamin' Banshee Black and Imaginarium Chipboard.
The Lindy's sprays and Magicals colours inspired me to create a soft, vintage style layout:
I mixed some of the Screamin' Banshee Black Magical with some water on a craft mat and painted it on to the chipboard title. The resulting colour on the chipboard is just amazing!!!
My background was made with an initial layer of the Ramblin' Rose Pink Magical - the powder was sprinkled on my paper and then spritzed with water and allowed to run. Once dry I added the Canna Lily Burnt Orange and Opal Sea Oats sprays randomly over the page. A little spritz of water allowed these to run and soften. Finally I flicked both of the sprays over the page once the bottom layers were dry
Adding some random stamping over the background colours help add to the fabulous aged / distressed look created by the Lindy's Sprays and Magicals

I was very happy when the brief came through from Kaisercraft for this weeks DT post - flowers!!!! Something I definitely don't have a problem playing with!
Along with the flowers we are using the gorgeous new 'Ooh La La' collection which is just so pretty :)

I absolutely love the mix of the Iceberg and Coral coloured flowers. Set off by the greenery in the vine it's just so light and summery
A little bit of Gesso on the flowers just soften them down and helps the layout flow. To finish it all off - one of the Clear Stickers. The black in the stickers helps with grounding the layout and gives it that touch of a dark colour that it needs without overwhelming it

October has seen two amazing collections released over at Kaisercraft - Glisten and Ooh La La. Both are stunning and so easy to play with :) Glisten has fabulous gold and silver highlights which are just perfect for your Christmas creating and Ooh La La is a beautifully soft and pretty floral collection.

Other: Paper Clip
With the Ooh La La collection I was inspired by the 'Tres Chic' paper which had these fabulous decorative squares that reminded me of the pressed tin ceilings in old buildings. I cut these into it's squares and built up a 3 x 3 panel layout. It's something that's a bit of fun and a little different for a layout :)
Now as you probably know, I do like to make tags! I find them a fun size that you can experiment with and they are always handy to have on hand for presents! The Glisten collection looked perfect for a bit of tag making and mixed beautifully with the Kaisercraft Glitter Cardstock. I made two sets of tags - one with the gold highlight and the other set with silver:
