Happy New Year and I hope 2014 is a wonderful one for all of us :)
It's been a bit hard on the scrappy front with most of my stash packed away as the house is on the market and well lets face it, no matter how organised you are scrapbooking stash is messy! So I have to keep digging through tubs that are packed in the storage area under the stairs in order to have some creative fun.
My brother and his family have also just headed back to London after spending a sunny Christmas with us. It's been wonderful for the girls to meet their two year old cousin for the first time and they've had a ball playing and laughing together. So we've tried to squeeze in as much time with them as we could while they were here as we don't know how long it will be before we all catch up again.
However I did mange to have a play before they arrived with the absolutely gorgeous Believe Collection from Manor House Creations. I love the beautiful Ornate Frames so I decided to use these against the black background of the Butterflies paper:
Manor House Creations products used: Papers – Believe Butterflies, Make Believe, Lace & Elements Cards, Flowers: Letters From Paris, Minuettes - pink, Vinette – pink, Vine – Pink, Ornate Frames – Flourish and Gothic, Flexible words – BELIEVE white
I love things to be balanced but not necessarily identical, especially on my flower cluster! On the right hand side I used the gorgeous and very versatile Vinette in Pink but as I didn’t want the other side to be exactly the same, I used a Vine in Pink and trimmed it to the size I needed. Mixing the flowers between the vines helps add interest across your cluster. Don’t be afraid to trim your vines to the size or shape you need and never discard any bits that are left over – they are too beautiful! So keep them to use on another project.
I trimmed some borders off of the Lace paper to create a softer line between the Butterflies and Make Believe papers.
With the Ornate Frames I popped some foam tape behind them so they had dimension on the page.
I'm still so amazed to be part of the Manor House Creations DT. The products are just divine and the girls are so talented and fabulous. Along with the gorgeous Scrapmatts team I feel blessed to start the year off with such amazing people :)
Here's to a wonderful and creative 2014
