I have just realised how much I haven't put up on my poor neglected blog and the guilt has set in! Still there is no point in dwelling on what I haven't done - I might as well get on with fixing it all :) So here is a little bit more of what I been up to with my art journal and some Christmas creating.
My beautiful Isabella has had a big year with a lot of changes and she has handled it all incredibly well for a 9 year old! Moving house and school within 2 months of each other would throw many of us into a spin, but other than a few bumps here and there she has just gone with the flow! She is my little social butterfly with a heart of gold :)
This page started out with a fun play with some texture paste, masks and then a mixture of different tones of pinks and yellow paints and mists. Once that was all dry some napkins and stamps added some movement to the page:
Then for the photo of Isabella and embellishing! This is where I am still struggling - I'm so used to playing with flowers which can add too much bulk to the pages of a journal so my 'go to' embellishment is limited. However, a quick dig around in my Manor House Creations stash found this gorgeous large cream flower ' Finesse' that was just perfect and relatively flat too!

I've had this huge stash of napkins for ages as every time I see a packet of ones I like I just have to buy them! They are perfect for art journaling so at long last I have a reason to buy more!!!!
I had a little bit of Christmas creating too with some fun ATC's. These are so fun to do and relatively quick (well compared to how long I play with a layout anyway!) Sorry all of the main photos of my ATC's had a bit of a blur on them ooops:

Heat embossing in gold on chipboard looks so effective and you don't usually lose any details on the chipboard. A little bit of brown ink on the edges helps soften the gold a little bit.
